In the preceding week, I engaged in walks across various areas with code enforcement. The accompanying photos showcase the diligent work of our Codes Officers, Department of Public Works, and Parks staff, alongside my involvement. While we address clean-up challenges, we are also committed to connecting the unhoused with necessary services through collaboration with the County and local organizations. BOONVILLE, N.Y. – The remains of Army Pvt. Harland Hennessey, who perished as a Japanese prisoner of war in 1942, are being returned home after being identified through DNA last year. The community is invited to line Rt. 12 with flags on Thursday at 7 p.m. for his escort from the Utica Thruway to Boonville. Hennessey, namesake of VFW Post 5538, will receive full military honors, highlighting the ongoing commitment to honor veterans and POWs even after decades.
