Firefighters Combat Blaze on Kellogg Avenue
Fire crews in Utica responded to a fire on Kellogg Avenue early Wednesday morning, shortly after 4:30 a.m. The blaze was contained to the back of a 2.5-story building, where the homeowner used fire extinguishers to control the flames before firefighters arrived. Crews encountered smoke issuing from the back porch and roofline, putting out hot spots and ensuring the building was empty. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Utica fire marshal’s office.
