Oneida County Sheriff Charged with Arson Following Kellogg Avenue Fire Incident
An Oneida County Sheriff’s Deputy, Aaron Alshaman, is facing arson charges for allegedly setting a fire at a West Utica home while on duty early on the morning of April 9. The Utica Fire Department responded to the blaze on Kellogg Avenue around 4:30 AM, where smoke was visible. An investigation revealed the fire originated at the rear of the two-story home and was later confirmed as arson by police. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, although the fire required significant effort to extinguish.
