Westmoreland Accident Injures Utica Teen; Hospitalized After Saturday Incident
A single-car accident in Westmoreland, NY, early Saturday morning sent a Utica teenager to the hospital. At around 6:40 AM on April 26, a 17-year-old male driver, traveling westbound on Route 5 at high speed, lost control and exited the highway, hitting a mailbox and a utility pole, which brought down wires. The vehicle then struck an unoccupied pickup truck before resting in the driveway. Route 5 was closed for hours while National Grid cleared the scene.
