Proctor High School Launches International Peace Poles to Foster Unity and Education
Over 200,000 Peace Poles worldwide promote harmony, with two recently installed at Proctor High School in Utica, conveying “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in 15 languages. This initiative, led by the Rotary Club of Utica, symbolizes hope and reconciliation, originating after World War II. David Jones, a former president of the club, emphasized the Peace Pole as a catalyst for dialogue among students and adults, highlighting its role in fostering discussions despite disagreements.
