Proctor High School Introduces International Peace Poles for Unity and Education
Proctor High School in Utica has installed two Peace Poles, conveying the message “May Peace Prevail on Earth” in 15 languages. This initiative, led by the Rotary Club of Utica, continues a post-World War II tradition aimed at promoting hope and reconciliation. David Jones, a former president of the Rotary Club, expressed the importance of these poles as tools to foster discussion among students and adults, emphasizing that while disagreements exist, they can serve as bridges for dialogue.
