Utica Rescue: Man Discovered Unconscious by Old Barnes Avenue Bridge
On August 14, in Utica, NY, a man was found unconscious in the woods near the old Barnes Avenue bridge. The Utica Fire Department responded after a report, while the New York State Division of Parole and Utica Police had already tracked him using GPS. Due to difficult terrain, UFD, with assistance from police and parole officers, conducted a low-angle rope rescue to safely extricate the man, who was subsequently transported to Wynn Hospital for treatment.
