New York Labor Day Travel: Lane Closures Lifted for Easier Traffic Flow
Gov. Kathy Hochul announced the suspension of construction-related lane closures in New York from 6 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Tuesday for Labor Day weekend, aiming to improve traffic flow and ensure the safety of highway workers. Major highways and local roads, such as Burrstone Road in Utica, will remain fully open. Additionally, New York State Police will enforce the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign throughout the holiday, focusing on reducing impaired and reckless driving.
