Melita and Bailey Named First Pioneer Athletes of the Week for 2025-2026
UTICA, NY – Bennett Melita and Trinity Bailey have been named the first Pioneer Athletes of the Week for the 2025-2026 academic year. Bailey excelled in women’s volleyball, amassing 49 kills and seven service aces over a four-match weekend, including a standout performance against Penn College with 15 kills and a .652 hitting percentage. Meanwhile, Melita set a new course record in men’s cross country at the SUNY Poly Short Course Invitational, finishing in 18:49.5. Both athletes are poised for exciting seasons ahead.
