Utica Shines Yellow for Childhood Cancer Awareness Month | Health Update
September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, as announced by Utica Mayor Michael Galime. Throughout the month, City Hall, the UTICA sign at Utica Place garage, and Varick Street will be illuminated in yellow to promote awareness. St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital reports that over 290 children are diagnosed with cancer each week in the U.S., while approximately 400,000 children globally are affected annually, with only half receiving timely diagnoses. This initiative aims to highlight these critical issues affecting young lives.
