Utica Native Advocates for Prostate Cancer Awareness and Education
Kevin Byrd, a college student at Long Island University, co-created a short film, “The Last Days,” to raise awareness about prostate cancer after his grandfather’s diagnosis. The film, screened to a sold-out audience, inspired Byrd and his friend Blossom Brown to establish the Brown Byrd Foundation in 2008. Their nonprofit aims to promote prostate cancer screening campaigns throughout New York’s tristate area, focusing on increasing awareness and education about the disease.
