Utica firefighters responded to a car fire at a South Street car wash Monday afternoon around 1 p.m. The blaze started inside the garage and spread to the roof, but all personnel escaped unharmed, and no injuries were reported. The fire caused visible damage to the building. The Utica Police Department, National Grid, and Centro provided assistance at the scene, while a Centro bus served as a cooling station for firefighters due to the high temperatures that day.
