Utica Teens Arrested for Kidnapping: Two Taken into Custody
Two Utica teenagers, including 18-year-old Jean Rivera, have been arrested in connection with a month-long investigation into kidnapping and bank fraud, while a 19-year-old accomplice remains at large. The incidents began in late July when a victim, threatened with a handgun, was forced to withdraw money by cashing stolen checks. After failed attempts, the victim was held overnight until successful transactions resulted in almost $5,000 fraudulently withdrawn. The Utica Police continue to investigate the case.
