Melita Breaks SUNY Poly Course Record with First Place Finish in Utica
Utica University’s men’s cross country team kicked off their 2025 season in spectacular fashion, dominating the SUNY Poly Short Course Invitational by claiming six of the top-10 spots and setting a new course record. Bennett Melita led the charge, finishing first with a time of 18:49.5, breaking the previous record from 2015. Anthony Leotta secured second place and five other Pioneers also placed in the top 10, highlighting Utica’s impressive team performance as they prepare for their next competition on September 13.
