Pioneers Lose to Saints in Final Match of North Country Invitational
In a disappointing finish at the North Country Invitational Tournament, the Utica Pioneers fell to St. Lawrence Saints 5-0, suffering an early setback in their 2025 campaign. Despite an energetic first half and seven shots, the Pioneers couldn’t find the net, with standout Mia Benincasa narrowly missing multiple scoring chances. However, rookie goaltender Sophia Weiss shone defensively, racking up six saves in the second half. The Pioneers will look to regroup before their next match against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute on September 13th.
