Coowners Retiring; Partners Step in at Famous Utica Restaurant, No Butter Still.
Dante Rose’s family is set to take full ownership of Pelletieri Joe’s, a beloved Utica eatery, as current co-owners Tony and Sue Zysk retire after six years. Rose, who has cherished memories of dining there since childhood, emphasizes the restaurant’s iconic status—around for 115 years and a local landmark. As the Roses step in, they plan to preserve the cherished menu and atmosphere, introducing consistent hours by keeping the bar open daily and gradually reinstituting food service on Tuesdays and beyond, prioritizing nostalgia over drastic changes.
